What to Expect When Meeting A Psychotherapist
Many people come to a therapist's office filled with anxiety about what will happen there, and what is expected of them. Initially, the therapist will ask you many questions about the nature and history of your psychological problems, and it will be helpful if you can answer them as honestly as possible.

The therapist will also want to get an idea of how you have dealt with these problems so far, including any treatment you have experienced, as well as any medications you have tried or are presently taking.

Then the therapist will give you an idea of what she feels would be an appropriate course of treatment. Office policy, fees, and session availability will be discussed.

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

Because we know that the best psychotherapy experience results from the "fit" between client and therapist, we offer the initial consultation at no charge to you. This generally lasts 30-40 minutes, giving you a chance to address any questions you may have.

This initial consultation puts you under no obligation: we encourage individuals to find a therapist they can work well with and with whom they feel comfortable.
